Opening up Education in South-Mediterranen Countries

The OpenMed project, supported by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme of the European Union, has been working during the period 2015-2018 to widening participation and adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practices (OEP) as a bottom-up approach to support the modernisation of the Higher Education sector in the South-Mediterranean. The project involved an international consortium composed by five partners from Europe and nine from South Mediterranean Countries.

	Compendium with a review of open education in the region, webometrics analysis, 11 case studies, and a series of video interviews with experts in open education		Innovation Centers for Open Education at South-Med partner universities
	OER National Strategy Forums in Egypt (Nov-16), Morocco (Dec-16), Jordan (Feb-17), Palestine (Apr-17)		OER Course on “Open Education: fundamentals and approaches” with 5 modules openly available in multiple languages (English, French, Arabic) and formats
	OER Regional Agenda for South-Mediterranean Universities		74 academics trained face to face (Torino, 25-29 Sep-18) and online phase (Oct-17 Mar-18) run trough nine facilitated learning circles
	Institutional Roadmaps on Open Education		Recommendations to institutional leaders and policy makers

OpenMed participates in the Year of Open, a global celebration of Open Education initiated by the Open Education Consortium in 2017, by actively committing to participate and contribute to widen participation on Open Education.
