ICOE at Cairo University, Egypt

Cairo University aims to raise awareness and facilitate the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practices (OEP) in Egypt and the region of the Arab Mediterranean countries.

ICOE and OER servers are located at CASBEC, Faculty of Engineering, CU.
Cairo University is utlizing the five Innovation Centres for Open Education (ICOEs) – accessible to students, staff and instructors – to perform the following activities:
- Conduct several open seminars to increase the awareness of Open Education concept in Egypt;
- Conduct online course similar to OpenMed online course for several groups starting with three groups from CU, Helwan University, and Menia University;
- Enable staff and instructors to create OER for open courses using the OpenMed server capabilities.
In the future, The ICOEs and the OER server of CU will be used to create, host, access, maintain, and keep improving OER and open education courses.
