The OpenMed project and the concept of Open Education has been presented on November 13, 2018 by our colleague Raniero Chelli (UNIMED) to Tunisian educator during a workshop titled “Modernisation of teaching methods” organised in the frame of the MAYA project “Master in Agricultural and hYdrological Approaches to a better sustainable development”

The workshop was held by the University of Carthage at the Institut des hautes études touristiques (IHET) in Sidi Dherif, Carthage, Tunisia from the 13th to the 15th November 2018, with presentations in the morning and roundtable discussions in the afternoon.

The goal of the workshop was to share experiences and knowledge about innovation in teaching to the benefit of the with the Tunisian educators involved in the MAYA project. The OpenMed presentation provided an overall view of OER and open practices and the main achievements of OpenMed.

Raniero reported an high level of interest among the participants, and some reservations were also formulated in particular as regards e-learning practices themselves, such as the availability of reliable Internet connections and ways of motivating students to access online resources.

We are grateful to the MAYA project for giving us the opportunity to share our achievements, and for having us at the workshop.

We are eager to continue the cooperation with them and to hear comments from others with insight or interest in this area.
