Partners’ Meeting in Agadir

The fourth Partners’ Meeting of OpenMed was held on 3-4 May 2018 in Agadir, Morocco hosted by Ibn Zohr University.

The meeting was used to assess mid-term results achieved, notably the pilot training course on Open Education delivered, validate the course contents based on the pilot course evaluation report, and share the institutional strategies for Open Education in the South Mediterranean partner universities.

During the meeting, the team at the university of Seville held a group with the facilitators of the training course aimed at identifying cultural barriers in the adoption of open education in higher education in the Middle East, specifically in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Palestine.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Innovation Centre for Open Education (ICOEs) established at In Zohr University as part of the project. The center is located inside the New University Campus in the premises of the Center for Pedagogical Innovation.

We are grateful to prof. Ahmed Almakari and the team at Ibn Zohr University for hosting the meeting, we spent two very inspiring days with the OpenMed colleagues. Moroccan hospitality is just fantastic.
